Clark Schaefer Leaders
Providing our firm with leadership and vision, in 2003 Dave combined forces with partners from Clark, Schaefer, Hackett & Co. to establish Clark Schaefer Consulting, LLC. Beginning his career in public accounting where he specialized in IT consulting; the early 1990’s saw Dave become the Director of IT Consulting at Clark, Schaefer, Hackett & Co. where he formed a relationship that would be critical for developing Clark Schaefer Consulting. Dave has managed at Deloitte where he specialized in IT security/controls and internal/IT audit consulting and has been Managing Director of Jefferson Wells International’s Cincinnati office. Dave is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Information System Auditor, Certified Information Technology Professional and Chartered Global Management Accountant. Additionally, he is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Ohio Society of CPAs, Information Systems and Control Association, and the Institute of Internal Auditors.
Managing Director - Cincinnati
Sarah Ackerman is the Managing Director of the Cincinnati office, responsible for the overall engagement quality of all services we provide to clients in the Cincinnati marketplace. Sarah oversees the progress and completion of projects, ensuring that client objectives are met at every step in the process. She has significant experience providing information security, risk management, IT audit/compliance, and other related services within a wide variety of clients and industries.
Sarah has presented as a subject matter expert on various IT, security, and risk-related topics to local and regional chapters of ISSA, (ISC)2, ISACA, IIA, Infragard, and the Tri-State League. She was a speaker at the 2015 Ohio Information Security Summit and the 2015 and 2016 Northern Kentucky Security Symposium, and was one of the keynote speakers at the 2016 Ohio Information Security Conference. In addition, Sarah was recently nominated as one of the “40 Under 40”, which recognizes Greater Cincinnati’s leaders professionally and within the community.
As a CISSP and CISA, Sarah applies a disciplined approach to managing projects in accordance with industry best practices, with an in-depth knowledge of a variety of frameworks, regulations, and standards, including COSO, COBIT, GLBA, SOX, MAR, HIPAA, PCI, and FDA 21 CFR Part 11, as well as various ISO and NIST frameworks. Providing technical expertise balanced with risk-based methodologies, Sarah seeks to align business goals of clients with their technical strategic initiatives. Her work has resulted in a proven track record of success in identifying control weaknesses, protecting information assets, and leading clients to successful organizational changes.
Managing Director - Columbus
Carly Devlin is the Managing Director of the Columbus office. She has the responsibility of ensuring all services provided to Columbus clients are carried out successfully while also developing and maintaining client relationships. Carly’s background in IT operations, IT audit, information security, and risk management across various industries allows her to effectively oversee the quality of work provided by our consultants.
Carly is involved with many local professional organizations, including ISACA and ISSA, in which she has been a presenter on multiple occasions. Her involvement in professional organizations, experience as a consultant, knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory frameworks, and continued education required by the CISA and CISSP certifications she holds, allows her to provide value add solutions to the issues her clients face.
Whether it’s an accounting process improvement project, information security assessment, or creation of documentation, the main goal of Clark Schaefer Consulting is to provide quality services to our clients. Carly works to ensure that the Columbus office management and consultants share the same goal and commitment to the Columbus community.
Brian Matteson is the Director of our Technology Consulting and IT Audit practice in the Columbus office. He is responsible for overall project delivery and client satisfaction. Brian has a diverse background in IT operations, IT audit, information security, and risk management, including work within multiple industry verticals, that allows him to effectively oversee the quality of work provided by our consultants. Brian is also responsible for building and maintaining trusted relationships with our clients and throughout the IT community.
Brian is involved with many local professional organizations, including ISACA and IIA, in which he has been a presenter on multiple occasions. He has also been invited to speak at the Northern Kentucky Security Symposium, and for the NW Ohio Healthcare Financial Management Association. Brian’s knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory frameworks, and life-long pursuit of education allows him to provide value-add solutions to his clients.
Jeff is the Director of Finance/ Accounting and Governance, Risk and Compliance Practice in the Columbus office. He is responsible for leading a department of professionals to ensure clients are provided with high-value solutions in the areas of internal auditing, controls assessment, GRC, business process improvement, anti-fraud, investigations and more. He has extensive experience in financial and strategic planning, reporting, risk assessment, internal audit, project management, business valuation, continuous process/performance improvement and compliance.
Jeff has a solid track record of developing and implementing innovative financial systems, streamlining operations, improving risk management, heightening productivity and controlling costs. His extensive knowledge of US GAAP auditing standards and risk and control issues allows him to deliver comprehensive Internal Audit Services and align business goals of clients with their strategic initiatives.
Jeff is a Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Fraud Investigator, and holds a certification in Risk Management Assurance. Additionally, he is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors and Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
Client Development Manager
Enthusiastic, creative, and a strategic thinker, Jacquie is responsible for building and maintaining client business associations, understanding objectives, nurturing relationships and coordinating solutions for delivery of our services. She has assisted many corporations with evaluating, developing and providing strategic business services.
Chief Administrative Officer
Critical to overseeing the Firm’s administrative processes, DeAnna has been part of Clark Schaefer Consulting since 2004. DeAnna brings to the Company the ability to take the chaotic nature of consulting and put order to it. She administers a variety of areas including recruiting, human resources, accounting functions and scheduling of our staff. Having a background in marketing as well as international business, DeAnna uses her experience to make our Firm’s daily interactions with the business community we serve so successful. Prior to joining Clark Schaefer Consulting, DeAnna developed marketing and sales skills with Progressive Environmental Services.

This strategic oversight group is comprised of our Firm’s President plus the five individuals that reside on Clark Schaefer Hackett & Co.’s Executive Committee.
