Hiring and Training New Staff Auditors
September 22, 2016 @ 12:00 pm
The current market for Internal Auditors is competitive and there are high costs for onboarding candidates into an organization. As a result, organizations must focus on identifying strong candidates, bringing them onboard, and orienting them on the specifics of their roles and responsibilities. This presentation will provide considerations for identifying the best candidates for a staff auditor position. We’ll also discuss ways to set up new hires for success during their first year on the job once a candidate has been identified and hired. Since many IA shops involve their auditors in a hiring decision and the onboarding process, this is applicable to all but the newest auditors. You will learn how to identify the right candidate and how to involve the right members of the organization; how to phase in a new recruit to allow for an easy transition to the organization; and key phases of a new hire’s first year and steps for each phase.
